As a child, I never thought about gender or sexuality or categorized people based on it.
I saw everyone as who they were, simply as humans.

 

But with time, I started to see the world the way society wanted me to see it; a very binary and simplistic view and understanding of the world and its people.

 

And with time, I started to see myself in a very limited way.
Luckily, I never lost how I saw the world and myself from when I was young.

 

So piece by piece, I started to unlearn how society taught me to see things and rediscovered a new understanding of myself and the diverse world around me.

 

Today, I am still learning what true pride means.

 

But I think it means recognizing one’s own inherent worthiness, knowing one is enough, and the profound feeling of unconditional love that emanates from oneself and surrounds oneself.
